Evidence Eliminator Start Menu options
The Start tab enables you to remove various
history lists from your Windows Start Menu:
Run
Program History
On
your Start Menu, the "Run" option contains a drop-down
list of programs that have been run.
Find
Computer History
If
you often search for other computers over a network, a history of
searches is stored in a list.
Find
Files History
When
you search your machine for files, Windows remembers and
keeps a list of what you searched for.
Recent
Documents List
On
your Start Menu, the last 10 or 15 documents you read are
stored in the Documents folder.
Start Menu Order History
When items are moved around your Start Menu, it makes a separate memory of
their names and their positions. This option clears the whole history of the
Start Menu items and resets them to alphabetical order. For "Recent
Documents", this memory is automatically cleared by the above option to
prevent recent documents menu order being stored.
Start Menu Click History
There is a hidden encrypted database in the system registry which remembers a
wide range of information about what you have clicked on your start menu. The
dates and times of mouse clicks are stored with the names of programs
started. This option will clear this database and eliminate all the entries from
it.
